ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Transport and Logistics Expert position who meet the following requirements.

Job Summary

Transport and Logistics Expert is responsible for help in ensuring efficient and effective transport planning and implementing the plan within predefined time table.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assists the Senior Logistics and Transport Expert in the preparation of transport and logistics planning by providing information related to the pre-defined election requirement: - National election, Local election, Referendum and the like.
  • Execute all transportation activities are executed as per requirements and plan.
  • Keep accurate records for the number of vehicles/trucks utilized during each phase of election cycle so that information is forwarded to the concerned departments for payment and documentation.
  • Ensure that packed election materials are dispatched and distributed to all constituencies/centres  in a secured manner.
  • Help in preparing periodic and perpetual reports.
  • Perform all other duties as advised and directed by immediate supervisor.

Processes to manage and/or control

  • Control transport functions such as preparing transport plan, raise purchase requests and make follow-up of the deployment of appropriate trucks loading election materials and retrieval of election materials.
  • Make process audit and take corrective actions throughout all quarters where non-conformities encountered.

Specification:

Education and Work Experience: 

  • BA or MA degree in Supply chain Management, Business management, Transport Management or any other related fields.
  • 5 years for Masters or 7 years for BA In Supply chain management, Logistics, Fleet and related job positions

trainings and certification

  • Transportation Management, Change and Transformational management, Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications specially Excel and Word.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of all logistics/Transportation related assumptions, realities, government policy and procedures.
  • Understanding, know-how and use of all modes of transportation and all election destinations.  
  • Not a member of a political party.
